Artist Statement:

If there is one piece of art I have done that has taken me out of my comfort zone it would be the one I titled “One Moment Please”. This is a collage-based work assembled with humble materials such as common printer labels. I manipulated printed media using a laser jet printer. The imagery I use I find enticing and purposely vague. I slice these images into strips and like a painter uses brushstrokes of color. Layering these snouts of frozen images until I get to a total image. There’s a physicality in my work, but I ultimately want my work to him with life. By laying down strong colors next to rich patterns it allows the vertical and horizontal planes to work in a tug of war holding the totality of the image together.

Artist Bio:

I studied Commercial art at the University of Dayton and received my BFA from the Ohio State University. I have exhibited in numerous shows throughout Ohio and been involved with donating my work for just causes. I’ve been an active diner over the years to Art for Life and have seen its positive roll it plays in helping both friends and family. It’s been a pleasure and privilege actually being with ncluded in the Live as well as Silent portions of the event. I know there are many ways to assist in the battle against HIV/AIDS and art can be such a positive force in helping win the war.
