I have been teaching myself how to paint since 1994. I started out painting landscapes and Ohio barns with the Ohio Plein Air Society (OPAS). After a few years, I joined a few other independent artists with no planned painting locations or subject matter on weekends and holidays. When my talent reached gallery representation level, Sharon Weiss agreed to show and sell my work in her gallery located in the historic Short North Arts I’ve developed a style of my own and expanded my subject matter to include portraits, still life’s and other subjects of interests to me. As an artist, I tend to paint a series of paintings around a specific theme or viewpoint. For example, in an effort to learn a develop my individual style I chose five of my favorite artists and painted 36 studies of their work. This task was incredibly productive, rewarding and satisfying. Through out my years of painting I have been included in many juried group shows in several gallery and museum shows. I have had several one-artist shows and have had numerous pieces purchased from several charity fundraising events. My work is in hundreds of collections in Ohio and beyond.
