I am a self-taught artist living in Columbus. I started drawing as a teenager, but didn't exhibit my work until after I turned thirty. I've over 60 now, so it seems I've been showing my drawings in public for over 30 years now. I'm a two-time recipient of the Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award. Since 2006, I am represented by the Lindsay Gallery. Many years ago I wrote this in an attempt to explain my art, and it still seems to be the best I can do. "Even with all their strangeness, I hope it is clear that my drawings are primarily about people. People that are lonely; that love each other, but rarely can get along; that strive endlessly for something which they can never quite reach; that seek solace in power over others; that look at animals and wish they didn't have to think so hard about everything; that look at birds and wish they could fly; that suffer, that know they are going to die; and that are inexplicably driven to draw pictures of themselves."
