As an intuitive and interpretive artist, I paint my impression of reality. The materials I select allow me to better represent the flow of life and bodily movements. I strive to awaken the magic in the ordinary. My art is described as classic art, re-presented in a contemporary style. Color, light, form and texture provide the most important elements in a painting. Working with a combination of Oil Paint, often combined with Cold Wax Medium, I apply various layers to a surface. Working loosely and thinly; using brush and palette knife, applying paint, scrapping away, the subject begins to emerge. I continue with thicker applications of paint allowing the painting to ‘speak’ to me. Together we work to complete the image.
