Artist Statement:

In my current work, I invite you to explore the transformative power of visual language through color and texture that intertwines geometric shapes with asemic writing. This fusion creates a unique dialogue between text and image, where meaning transcends conventional boundaries and emerges as a unified expression of thought and emotion.

My intention is to challenge the traditional notions of communication and representation, blurring the lines between what is seen and what is understood. By fusing text and image, I aim to create a visual narrative that resonates with the complexities of our inner lives, where feelings and thoughts intertwine in endless possibilities.

As you navigate through this work, I encourage you to let go of preconceived notions of language and embrace the beauty of ambiguity

Artist Bio:

Chris is a self taught emerging artist in Columbus, Ohio. When not on stage playing guitar and taking cues from bands such as Helmet, Mastodon, and Quicksand, he can be found in his art studio taking cues from the likes of Kadinsky, Rothko, and Mondrian. As with his music, Chris attempts to convey and combine complex feelings and ideas with simple representations of shape and flow while allowing color and texture to catalyze a mental response. Chris enjoys the use of juxtaposition via hard edge shapes with the flow and feeling of asemic writings which allow the viewer to distill their own meanings from the piece. Preferring to work in the acrylic medium with an added graphite or charcoal element for additional dimension and weight.
