The “clickless” orchid piece I present here is created from a hand-held wand scanner, an instrument designed to be used on books and flat materials. I used to think there was a “decisive moment”, Bresson’s coinage, when my photographer’s eye and brain signaled my hand to press the shutter. The silk adds to the ephemeral quality of the flowers. I hang the orchids away from the wall to catch the wind.
